INSPIRATIONAL MASTERS

BASETSANA KUMALO

Basetsana Julia "Bassie" Kumalo is a South African television personality, beauty pageant titleholder, businesswoman, and philanthropist. Her Career began in 1990 when she was crowned Miss Soweto and Miss Black South Africa at the age of 16. What I have took from her and learnt from her is that I need to always look for opportunities and make the most of them and not to doubt my ability. She has also taught me that when I wake up each morning, I have to think of myself as a brand and act accordingly. Also to surround yourself with good people because they bring about good energy. And the 6 important aspects she believes will make an individual succeed in life:

1. Dare to Dream
2. Take Risks
3. You have to be street-smart and have suss, which no one can teach you
4. Don't take"no" for an answer
5. Surround Yourself with the best brains in the business
6.Go with your gut feel.

 RIHANNA ROBYN FENTY

Rihanna Robyn Fenty know professionally as Rihanna is a Barbadian singer, actress, and fashion designer. Rihanna has sold over 150 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling artists of all time. What I took from her was hard work and determination no matter what background you are from and whether that affected you positively or negatively. She is also a firm believer in God and focuses on obeying God and reading the bible, and I am also a Christian which makes me look up to her even more. She is a fan of Christian minister Joyce Meyer who I dearly listen to everyday for two hours before I sleep. What I have also taken from her is to keep your family close because even through rough times they will always be there for you no matter what the situation at hand.

NICO VAN DER MEULEN

Nico van der Meulen Architects focuses on designing innovative, luxurious homes, both contemporary and traditional, which is tailored to the tastes and needs of clients. The practice remains at the forefront of design by exploring new forms, pushing the boundaries and evolving with technology, without compromising on the authenticity of the design, aesthetics, materials and originality. Nico van der Meulen has taught me how to stay true to myself when it comes to creativity and always be original because at the end of the day nothing beats originality. Some of his extraordinary work includes:

INTERIOR DESIGN

My Philosophy of interior design is the smart investment into pieces anchor a space, the sprinkling of imagination and style choices blend together to create a space that is stylishly comfortable with color, proportion and functionality, while establishing a presence or image that is unique to each person and every space.

 INDUSTRIAL INTERIOR DESIGN

It creates an illusion of rough surfaces and materials that suggest an industrial past. They way to finish this look is to leave some walls or surfaces unfinished.

 Examples

SOUTHWESTERN INTERIOR DESIGN

This design captures the environment and heritage of the New Mexico and Arizona areas. The natural elements and colors and accents are inspired by the Spaniards, Mexicans and Native American Indians are distinctive of Southwestern interior design.

EXAMPLES

TRADITIONAL INTERIOR DESIGN

Trademarks of this style generally include deep wood tones, architectural details, and elegant furnishings. This style is quite versatile and can be combined with other interior elements to create a unique look in a room.

MODERN INTERIOR DESIGN

Modern interior design derives its influences from the modern art movement that preceded modern design. Modern design grew out of the decorative arts, notably ART DECOR, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It reached its peak in the 1950's and 1960's, which is why designers and decorators today may refer to modern as being "mid-century".

"I AM WHAT I AM BECAUSE OF WHO WE ALL ARE"

The ZULU hold their culture in high esteem, observing many of their old traditions, rituals and ceremonies. Zulu beliefs are based on the presence of ancestral spirits (amadlozi or abaphansi), which are essential in their day-to-lives.

The Zulus are the most known. We arose in the late 18th century from the hundreds of small clans occupying the northern regions of Kwa-Zulu-Natal on the eastern seaboard of South Africa. There was always a struggle between the clans for grazing rights and conflict was commonplace but took the form of shouted insults and some assegai throwing.

This changed with Shaka, an illegitimate son of a local chief, evicted, with his mother from his own clan. Shaka was born in 1787 and grew to be strong and fearless.

Zulus have some common beliefs and traditions. the Zulu ritual of marriage, creation myth, ancestor worship and clothing style are all hallmarks of this group's identity.

Traditional Zulu marriages have expectations for both the groom and bride. The groom offers a gift, known as lobola, to the brides family. Most men give cattle. The wealthier the man, the more cattle he offers. Once the bride's family accepts the lobola, the marriage is official under Zulu law.

Zulus believe in a myth that explains the creation of the world. In Zulu mythology, Unkulunkulu(God) created everything in our world. Originally, he was a reed, or plant, that took on a human form. From him, the Zulu believe they learned their survival skills. Unkulunkulu instructed the Zulu in the art of hunting and growing crops.

Reverence for ancestors plays a central role in Zulu spiritual life. Ancestors can influence events on earth, according to Zulu tradition. People honor their ancestors to receive protection and ward off evil spirits. Zulus speak to the ancestors rather than to God directly. The ancestors ask God to help the people during difficult times. As a social function, ancestor worship links family members spiritually, creating cultural continuity across generations.

The meaning of Ubuntu has its origin in the Southern reaches and encourages a spirit of cooperation between peoples of all colors and creeds. It is an 'all for one and one for all' and promotes mutual respect and understanding. Two of the greatest advocates of ubuntu philosophy are former South African President Nelson Mandela and former Anglican Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

MY CHILDHOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL...
I'm so thankful I had a Childhood before technology took over.
I miss my childhood,
No Homework,
No waking up early,
No stress,
No exam,
No problem in life.

I miss my Childhood,
where the hardest decision was,
choosing a flavor for my ice-cream.

When I was a Kid,
"You're not invited to My Party",
was the worst insult ever.

I miss my innocence of Childhood.
If I could,
Id give anything to return to it
and to forget that growing up means,
realizing that people get hurt for no reason.

I miss being a kid,
No one cared how you dressed,
We were all friends,
and we could all be ourselves
without being judged.
Does any one remember
pretending that the raindrops
on the window were racing
In elementary school,
when you were line leader
 everyone else behind you,
was your B-TCH
Childhood is measured out by sounds and smells and sights,
before the dark hour season grows.
There is a garden in every Childhood,
an enchanted place where colors are brighter,
the air is softer,
and the morning more fragrant than ever again.
Childhood is the most beautiful of all life's seasons.

Creativity requires passion and commitment.
It is unending and has no limit.
Creativity is about bringing in something new into being.
It is the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality.
Creativity can be characterized by the ability to perceive life in a new way.
It is all about finding hidden patterns to make connections,
in order to generate solutions of the unknown.

Creativity Entails:
Fluency,
Originality,
 Elaboration,
Flexibility,
Complexity,
&
Risk Taking.

Creativity Starts With You,
And Ends With You.

TAKE ME AS I AM...

She's been down and out
She's been wrote about
She's been talked about, constantly
She's been up and down
She's been pushed around
But they held her down, NYC
She has no regrets
She accepts the past
All these things they
helped make to make she
She's been lost and found
And she's still around
There's a reason for everything

You know I've been holding on.
Try to make me weak,
But i still stay strong.
Put My life all up in these songs
So that you can feel me
so that you can get the real me

So take me as i am,
or have nothing at all.
Just take me as i am,
or have nothing at all.

Now she's older now
Yes, she's wiser now
Cant disguise her now
She don't need
No one telling her
What to do or say
No one telling her
Who to be
She's on solid ground
She's been lost and found
Now, she answers to G-O-D
And she's confident
This is not the end
Ask me how i know
Cause she is me.

You know I've been holding on.
Try to make me weak,
But i still stay strong.
Put My life all up in these songs
So that you can feel me
so that you can get the real me

So take me as i am,
or have nothing at all.
Just take me as i am,
or have nothing at all.
